Conference on Diversity in Engineering
The Conference on Diversity in Engineering (CDE) is an annual national conference organized by the Canadian Federation of Engineering Students (CFES). It brings together engineering students from across Canada to discuss, learn, and take action on issues related to equity, diversity, and inclusion in engineering.
CDE 2026 will be hosted at the University of Victoria, bringing the conversation to the West Coast. Our theme, "Bridging the Gap: Building a Foundation for Equity," emphasizes the need to move from dialogue to action, creating tangible pathways for underrepresented groups in engineering.
Victoria, the capital city of British Columbia, is located on the southern tip of Vancouver Island. Known for its stunning natural beauty, mild climate, and vibrant cultural scene, Victoria offers a unique backdrop for CDE 2026.
Since Victoria is on an island, there are two main ways to get here:
Victoria International Airport (YYJ) has direct flights from major Canadian cities. The airport is about 30 minutes from downtown Victoria.
BC Ferries operates regular service from Tsawwassen (Vancouver) to Swartz Bay, about 30 minutes north of Victoria. The ferry ride takes approximately 1 hour 35 minutes.
